As a member of the St. Louis Cardinals “Gashouse Gang” team of 1934, Hall of Famer Dizzy Dean is a beloved figure in St. Louis Cardinals lore. 1934 saw the indomitable Dean go 30-7, becoming the final National League pitcher to reach the 30-win mark, while striking out an MLB-high 195 batters as the Cardinals charged to the World Series title. Dean was named the National League MVP for 1934, before finishing second in both 1935 and 1936. Injuries limited Dean to only 230 career starts, yet the Arkansan ended his time in the Majors with 150 wins and a sterling 3.02 career ERA. Dean was voted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1953. Offered here is a Rawlings Playmaker baseball signed by Dean in blue marker. Dean has signed the panel to the north of the “Playmaker” wordmark. This baseball comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (AE07127).
