Presented here is a typed letter signed by John F. Kennedy upon his election to the United States Senate in 1952. Kennedy, formerly a congressman, wrote to a “Mr. and Mrs. McBride” to thank them for their well-wishes after his election in early November. This letter is typed on official Congress of the United States letterhead and it reads “Just a note to thank you for your kind thoughts on my victory on November 4. I am looking forward eagerly to my service in the United States Senate, and I hope that my actions in the next six years will reward those who placed their trust in me in this election. With my best wishes, Sincerely, John F. Kennedy”. The future President has signed this letter, which is dated to November 25th, 1952, in black pen. Also included in this lot is this letter’s original envelope. The envelope is addressed to “Mr. and Mrs. John D. McBride” of 137 San Miguel Street in Springfield, Massachusetts. This historically significant lot comes with a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication (A19480) and would be a fantastic display piece in any collection!
