“Steady Eddie” Murray anchored the Baltimore Orioles’ infield during the lead up to the team’s 1983 World Championship. Between 1980 and 1983, the 1977 American League Rookie of the Year slugged 87 homers, knocked in 299 runs, and maintained a consistent .307 batting average. As would be expected from the O’s hit machine, Murray’s Hillerich & Bradsby R161 model bat shows outstanding use and is un-cracked. Some check from repeated ball contact is found on the right, left and back barrel and Murray’s number “33” is written on a piece of adhesive tape affixed to the knob. The Orioles’ Hall of Famer has signed the barrel in contrasting silver marker. The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B16106) for the game use and has been graded a solid GU 8.5, along with a LOA from JSA (Z67451) for the signature.
