Steinbrenner was the longest tenured owner in Yankees history, taking possession of the team in 1973 and remaining an integral part of the Bronx until his death in 2010. Wilpon first entered into Mets ownership in 1980, and today he owns a 52% stake in New York’s Senior Circuit outfit. Steinbrenner has signed the sweet spot of this baseball in black pen, and Wilpon has signed the south panel, also using a black pen.
