Presented is a 50-card complete set of R312 Pastels issued in 1936, which is highlighted by one of the earliest cards of New York Yankees great Joe DiMaggio. These 5-3/8" x 4" premiums are considered one of the most appealing baseball sets ever produced. And due to their fragile thin-stock, they are difficult to find in mid-grade condition or higher. This full set of blank-backed, miniature works of art is loaded with Cooperstown enshrinees and multi-player scenes. Highlights include: Cochrane (FR), Cronin/Harris (GD/VG), Cuyler (GD), Cuyler/Speaker/Taylor (VG/EX), Herman/Lindstrom/Hartnett/Klein (VG), Dickey (VG/EX), DiMaggio (VG), Foxx/Sewell (VG/EX), Galan/Traynor (VG), Gomez/Hoag (VG/EX), Grove/Mack (PR), Greenberg (EX), Hartnett/Cochrane/Demaree (GD, pencil), Hornsby (FR), Hornsby/Sothoron (VG/EX), Lombardi (VG/EX), Lopez (FR, marks), Martin (PR, pencil), Mize (VG/EX), Ruffing (VG), Stengel (PR), Vaughan/Wagner (GD/VG, erased pencil) and Waner/Waner/Weaver (VG). Grades 6% EX, 54% VG to VG/EX, 16% GD to GD/VG, 24% lesser (mainly due to back detriments).
