Rod Carew was presented with this award by the Minnesota Twins in honor of his 1991 National Baseball Hall of Fame induction. Carew played the first 12 years of his career for the Twins, winning his seven batting titles and the 1977 American League MVP award at Metropolitan Stadium. Carew spent the final seven seasons of his career with the California Angels before retiring after the 1985 season with 3,053 hits and a .328 batting average. Carew was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991 on his first ballot, receiving 90.5% of the vote.

This award features a transparent centerpiece mounted in a navy and red Minnesota Twins themed base. The award stands 16.5 inches tall and the base measures 8 x 4.5 inches. The transparent centerpiece boasts an imprinted image of Carew batting, as well as a Hall of Fame logo and the text “Rod Carew / The Minnesota Twins salute your induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame Presented April 14, 1991”. This historic award is in overall good condition.
