One of the greatest hitters in Red Sox history, Wade Boggs was swinging this bat during seasons in which he won three consecutive batting titles. Boggs also helped lead the Sox to the cusp of a World Championship in 1986 and recorded a cumulative .362 from 1986 to 1988. This Louisville Slugger C235 model bat shows excellent use with a handle crack. Several ball marks with stitch impressions are visible along with blue ink transfers and cleat imprints. Green bat rack paint streaks are present as well as a long depression in the wood on the back barrel. There is a moderate coat of pine tar on the upper and lower handle and Boggs’ number “26” is hand written on the knob. The Hall of Famer has signed the barrel “to Bill Best Wishes 88” in blue marker. The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B06732) for the game use and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9, plus a COA from PSA/DNA (AA28588) for the signature.
