Hall of Famer Dave Winfield used this bat during his final season in San Diego in 1980. His .276 average that year convinced George Steinbrenner that this was the man he needed to bring the World Series back to the Bronx. Winfield’s 1980 Louisville Slugger W273 model bat is un-cracked and shows excellent use. Several ball marks with stitch impressions can be seen on the right, left and back barrel as well as white leather ball scuffs on the left and back barrel. Blue bat rack paint streaks are visible along with cleat imprints. A light coat of pine tar is found on the handle and Winfield has signed the barrel in silver marker with the inscription “HOF 2001.” The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B06312) for the game use and has been graded a solid GU 8.5, plus a LOA from PSA/DNA (Y06338) for the signature.
