“The Ignitor” Paul Molitor brought it all back home in 1996 when he joined his hometown Minnesota Twins. It was a triumphant season for Molitor when he reached the 3,000-career-hit milestone. The following season he became only the second over-40-year-old in history to record over 200 hits. Dating to those two seasons, Molitor’s 1996-1997 Louisville Slugger P130 model bat shows medium to heavy game use and has a handle crack. Many ball marks are visible along with blue ink transfers. There is the impression from a weighted batting donut present as are cleat imprints. A moderate coat of pine tar is found on the handle and Molitor’s number “4” is written on the knob in silver along with a small number “2.” This smaller number was used by the Hall of Fame to designate the order of his favorite bats, this “2” meaning it would be his second favorite. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (H53503) for the game use and has been graded a GU 7.
