Minnesota Twins star catcher Joe Mauer wore this blue Twins alternate jersey during the 2006 MLB season. Mauer, the first overall pick in the 2001 MLB Draft, had a breakout year in 2006. Mauer won the first of his three career batting titles, becoming only the third catcher in baseball history and the first in the Junior Circuit to claim the batting crown, with a sky-high .347 average. Mauer made the first All-Star team of his career in 2006, adding 13 homers, 84 RBI, and 36 doubles to his nearly .350 batting average. Mauer demonstrated his exceptional batter’s eye in 2006, walking 79 times against only 54 strikeouts for the 96-66 Twins.

This offered navy button-down jersey has “MINNESOTA” sewn across the chest in white and red tackle twill. Mauer’s number “7”, to be retired by the Twins during the 2019 season, is sewn on the chest and back in red and white tackle twill. “MAUER” is sewn across the back shoulders in white and red tackle twill over a matching navy nameplate. A number “34” memorial patch for the Twins Hall of Fame centerfielder Kirby Puckett is sewn on the right sleeve, while a Twins logo patch and a white Majestic logo are sewn on the left sleeve. Red piping accents the sleeves and chest of this jersey. A Majestic tag and a “7 50 06” swatch are sewn on the front left tail. Mauer has signed the “7” digit on the back of the jersey in black marker. The jersey comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (BB 100790) that states the jersey is “team issued”, a common designation for items collected after the end of the regular season. The jersey is also accompanied by a LOA from the Minnesota Twins attesting to its use during the 2006 MLB season. Additionally, there is a LOA from JSA (Z67433) for Mauer's signature.
