Hall of Famer Kirby Puckett, the 10-time All-Star, 2-time World Champion, AL batting champ and All-Star MVP was cruising along to a Hall of Fame bound career when an eye ailment ended his career before the 1996 season. In the 1994 season, Puck was the AL RBI leader and looked like there were many more great seasons ahead. Even with failing vision, Puckett played well the following 1995 season, hitting .314 with 23 home runs and 99 RBI to go along with his 10th consecutive All-Star Game appearance. Puckett’s 1994-95 era Louisville Slugger P339 model bat shows heavy use with a handle crack. The barrel is covered with ball marks and stitch impressions along with blue ink transfers, cleat imprints and bat rack paint streaks. A moderate coat of pine tar is on the handle and Puckett’s number “34” is handwritten in green marker on both ends of the bat. In addition, the knob end has “Kirby” handwritten in green. The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (H53359) for the game use and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9.
