One must be a great wide receiver when one of the criticisms is that “All he does is catch touchdowns”. This famous line of course was from Hall of Fame wide receiver Cris Carter’s former coach in Philadelphia, Buddy Ryan after he was cut from the Eagles in the 1990 preseason. Fortunately for Carter, he signed on with the Minnesota Vikings where he spent the last 13 seasons where he was selected as two All-Pro’s and picked for seven Pro Bowl’s.

This offered Minnesota Vikings purple home jersey was worn by Carter during the 1991 and 1992 seasons. This size 40 mesh jersey was manufactured by Russell Athletic and has Carter’s number “80” screen-printed in white on the front, back and sleeves. The NFL shield patch is sewn on the base of the V-neck collar and “C. CARTER” is sewn on in white tackle twill on a matching purple nameplate above the number on the back of the jersey. The Russell Athletic logo patches are sewn on sleeve above the numbers and the shortened sleeves themselves have an elastic band with screen-printed yellow and white stripes. The sides have a Spandex lining, which displays some fading and the Russell Athletic tag with the (2” Extra Body Length) flag is sewn on the base of the front left tail. This jersey displays light game use and Carter has signed his name in faded red marker on the back “8”. This jersey comes with a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema for the game use and a COA from JSA (CC16979) for the signature.
