Presented here are commemorative and very rare black bats from the Minnesota Twins two World Series titles. The first bat is from the 1987 World Series, when the Twins upset the St. Louis Cardinals in a thrilling seven-game World Series. Frank Viola was named the World Series MVP after winning the first and final games of the Fall Classic. This bat has “Minnesota Twins World Champions 1987” and manager Tom Kelly’s name etched on the barrel in green, while the remaining names and signatures are etched in gold. The second bat in this lot is from the 1991 World Series, which saw the Twins beat the Braves, again in a seven-game series. The highlight of this series was Jack Morris’ masterpiece for the Twins in Game 7; a ten-inning, complete game shutout won 1-0 by the Twins. Morris was named the World Series MVP for his Herculean efforts, and in 2018 was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. This bat has “Minnesota Twins World Champions 1991” and manager Tom Kelly’s name etched on the barrel in green, while the remaining names and signatures are etched in gold. Both bats are in good condition.
