Jim Perry, the 1970 American League Cy Young Award winner, won 215 games in his Major League career, with 13 of those wins coming in the 1972 season, where he had a respectable 3.35 ERA in 217 and 2/3 innings. Offered is the Minnesota Twins road jersey that Perry wore during the 1972 season. This button-down Spalding size 44 jersey features “Twins” and a paraph sewn on across the chest in red and navy tackle twill, which shows some fading. Perry’s number “31’ is sewn on in red and navy tackle twill on the back of the jersey. On the inside lower center tail are “72”, “Spalding” and “44” tags. Lightly handwritten in black is the name “Lafountain” which indicates that this jersey was most likely used by James LaFountain in the minors for the Elizabethton Twins of the Appalachian League in 1976. The collar has a red/white/navy border and the sleeve ends are bordered in thick navy/white/red stripes. The left sleeve has the Twins logo patch. This jersey displays heavy game use with three of the six buttons missing and slight discoloration of the gray knit material. This jersey comes with a LOA from MEARS (316173) for the game use and has been graded an A7.
