Presented in this lot is a collection of World War I era maps and documents. The first item in this lot is a hardcover copy of The Michelin Guides To The Battle-Fields (1914-1918): Ypres and the Battle of Ypres. Also included is a set of maps compiled by the history committee of the 37th “Buckeye” Division in 1929. These maps include “Bourmont Billeting Area: July 12th to July 21st, 1918”, “Saint Mihiel Operation 62nd Artillery Brigade: 37th Division Nov. 1st to Nov. 11th, 1918”, “Baccarat-Sector: Aug. 4th to Sept. 15th, 1918”, “Meuse-Argonne Offensive: September 26th to Oct. 1st, 1918”, “Travels of the 37th Division in Belgium: Oct. 25, 1918 to Jan. 15, 1919”, “France and Belgium”, “St. Mihiel Sector: Oct. 8th to Oct. 16th, 1918”, “Operations of 37th and 91st Divisions in Belgium: Oct. 30 to Nov. 11, 1918”, “Travels of the 37th Division in Belgium: Oct. 25, 1918 to Jan. 15, 1919”, and “Avocourt-Sector: Sept. 22nd to Sept. 26th, 1918”. Also included in this lot is a telegram announcing armistice from Marshal Ferdinand Foch, several handwritten letters and envelopes from Herbert MacGregor of the U.S. Army sent to William MacGregor of Haverhill, Massachusetts, and two vintage newspaper clippings. This lot is a fantastic treasure trove of World War I history!
