New York Mets ace David Cone wore this white, pinstriped Mets pullover home jersey during his breakout 1988 season and postseason. Cone, in his third Major League campaign, won 20 games against only three losses, finishing the season with a 2.22 ERA and 213 punchouts. Cone threw eight complete games, with four shutouts, as the Mets won 100 games and came within one game of a World Series appearance. Cone appeared in three postseason games, starting Games 2 and 6 of the NLCS at Dodgers Stadium and recording the final three outs of Game 3 at Shea Stadium.

This pullover jersey has “Mets” and Cone’s number “44” sewn on the chest in blue and orange tackle twill. “CONE” and a second “44” are sewn on the back of the jersey in the same fashion. Orange-blue-orange stripes accent the sleeves and sides of this jersey. A Rawlings size “42” tag is sewn inside the front left tail next to a “P.O. 88 44 2” swatch. This jersey comes with a LOA from MEARS (315828) for the game use and has been graded a perfect A10. Please note that the MEARS LOA authenticated both this offered jersey and matching game pants. This lot only has the jersey and the pants are NOT included in this lot.
