The legendary slugger Mark McGwire wore this gray St. Louis Cardinals road jersey during his historic 1999 season. McGwire led all of baseball with 65 longballs, giving the former Oakland A’s star an incredible 135 total round trippers in back-to-back seasons. McGwire added a National League-high 147 RBI, 118 runs, and a .278 batting average to his stunning campaign. McGwire made his 11th career All-Star team in 1999 and finished in the top five of MVP voting for the third time in his career.
This offered gray button-down road jersey has “Cardinals” and the Redbirds’ iconic “Birds on a Bat” logo chenille stitched to the chest in red, yellow, and navy. McGwire’s number “25” is sewn on the chest and back in red and navy tackle twill. “MCGWIRE” is sewn across the back shoulders in red and navy tackle twill over a matching gray nameplate. A Rawlings tag with attached size “52” and “Set 1 1999” flags is sewn on the inside of the front left tail. This jersey comes with a LOA from MEARS (315895), who have graded the jersey an A5.
