Lanky fireballer Randy Johnson wore this Montreal Expos jersey in 1989, his second season in the Bigs. Johnson, still struggling to locate his fastball over the plate, appeared in seven games for the Expos before a trade sent him and two others to the Seattle Mariners for Mike Langston and a “player to be named later”. It was in Seattle where Johnson developed into a Hall of Fame player with a trophy case stocked full of five Cy Young Awards. Johnson would go on to win 303 games in his career, earning induction to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in its class of 2015.

This powder blue, button down road jersey has “expos” and “51” sewn on the chest in red and blue tackle twill, with a large Expos logo patch sewn on the left chest area. Due to the presence of veteran infielder Wallace Johnson, Randy’s name is sewn across the shoulders as “R. Johnson” in red and blue tackle twill. Johnson’s “51” is also sewn on the back in red and blue tackle twill. This jersey is accented with a red and blue pattern on the sleeves and sides and has a Rawlings size “50” tag sewn on the back inside collar. “5 Inch Extra Length” and “Set 1 1989” flags are attached to the tag. Due to Johnson’s limited time with the Expos, this jersey shows light use. It is accompanied by a LOA from noted game used jersey expert Dave Miedema.
