Boston Red Sox starter Derek Lowe wore this gray Boston road jersey during the 2004 MLB season. Lowe started 33 games for the Red Sox, finishing the season with a 14-12 record for the 98-74 Red Sox. Lowe pitched well in the postseason, going 3-0 with only four earned runs in 19.1 innings of work spread across three starts and a relief appearance in the American League Division Series. All three of Lowe’s victories in the 2004 postseason were series clinching victories for Boston. The Red Sox finished their 2004 season with a historic comeback against the Yankees in the ALCS before sweeping the St. Louis Cardinals in the Fall Classic.
This offered gray button-down road jersey has “BOSTON” sewn across the chest in red and navy tackle twill. Lowe’s number “32” is sewn on the back in red and navy tackle twill, while “LOWE” is sewn over a matching gray nameplate in the same fashion. A MLB logo patch is sewn on the back outside collar. Red piping accents the sleeves. A Russell Athletic tag and a “2004” year tag are sewn on the front left tail of the jersey. Attached to the Russell tag are size “52”, “+1[inch] Sleeve Length”, and “+2[inch] Extra Length” flags. This jersey comes with a LOA from MEARS, who have assigned the jersey a grade of A5.
