Offered here is Carl Furillo’s signed Uniform Player’s Contract with the Brooklyn Dodgers for the 1948 MLB season. Furillo, who debuted in 1946, hit .297 with four homers and 44 RBI during the 1948 campaign. Furillo, the 1953 National League batting champ, played his entire career with the Dodgers, the final three taking place in sunny Los Angeles. “The Reading Rifle” won two World Series with the Dodgers and appeared on the National Baseball Hall of Fame ballot five times after his career ended. This offered contract is for the sum of $8,500, and it was signed by Furillo in blue pen. Additionally, Dodgers executive Branch Rickey has signed this contract, also in blue pen.
