Though initially reluctant to leave New York for Philadelphia, Lenny Dykstra quickly warmed to his environs when the notoriously tough Philly fans enthusiastically embraced him. With his throwback Gashouse Gang-style of play, “Nails” became the face of the 1990 Phillies as they scrapped their way to a 77-85 record. Dykstra hit .400 through most of the summer before finishing with .325 and leading the league in hits and on base percentage. This Louisville Slugger B267 model bat is un-cracked and shows outstanding use. There are many ball marks with stitch impressions on the barrel and a heavy coat of pine tar on the handle. Dykstra’s number “4” is written on the knob in black marker and again on the barrel end in gold marker. “Nails” has signed the barrel of his game in contrasting silver pen. The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B15191) for the game use and has been graded a perfect GU 10, plus a LOA from Steve Grad of Beckett Authentication for the signature.
