The big first baseman was one of the most feared home run hitters in a career that spanned both leagues and three decades. Johnny Mize was a 10-time All Star, and this bat was issued to “Big Jawn” for his final Mid-Summer Classic in 1953. The Hillerich & Bradsby M153 All-Star model bat is un-cracked and shows excellent use. The barrel has the custom “ALL STAR GAME CINCINNATI 1953” stamping. There are several ball marks and stitch impressions visible on the left and back barrel and the handle has been taped in a spiral pattern to enhance the grip. The model number “M153” is stamped into the knob and the Hall of Famer has signed the barrel in blue marker adding “11/23/87.” The bat comes with LOA from PSA/DNA (1B12706) for the game use and has been graded a perfect a GU 10, plus a LOA from JSA (Z67455) for the signature.
