Hall of Famer Jim Thome played for a handful of teams during his career but will be remembered for his Philadelphia Phillies seasons from 2003-05, especially his debut season with the club in 2003. During the 2003 season, Thome won his only home run title, banging out 47 round trippers, while knocking in 131 runs. Thome would go on to add 42 home runs in 2004 and only an injury-riddled 2005 prevented the big lefty from keeping up the pace he set in his first two seasons in Philadelphia. Thome’s 2003-05 era Louisville Slugger M356 model bat shows excellent use with a repaired handle crack. Several ball marks are found on the barrel along with stitch impressions, blue ink transfers and cleat imprints. The impression of a weighted batting donut is visible. The handle has been taped and padded to enhance the grip and a moderate coat of pine tar applied. Thome has signed the barrel in silver marker adding “612 HR.” The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B057220 for the game use and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9, plus a LOA from JSA (Y39306) for the signature.
