The Boston Red Sox won their fourth World Series title in 1916, defeating the Brooklyn Robins in a five-game Fall Classic. Game 2 of the World Series was an instant classic, with Babe Ruth pitching a 14-inning complete game as the Red Sox won 2-1 on Del Gainer’s walk-off single in the bottom of the 14th. Offered here is a ticket to the clinching fifth game of the 1916 World Series, a 4-1 Red Sox win at Braves Field. Ernie Shore notched his second win of the World Series, pitching a complete game with three hits allowed and only one unearned run surrendered. Hal Janvrin, Chick Shorten, and Larry Gardner picked up the Red Sox three RBI, while Janvrin also reached base on a run-scoring E6 in the bottom of the third frame. This offered ticket stub has been encapsulated and graded a PR 1 by PSA (23398700).
