The 1965-66 Texas Western Miners were one of the most important college basketball teams of the century. They became the first team in college basketball history to win an NCAA championship game with an all-black starting five after defeating Adolph Rupp and the Kentucky Wildcats in the tournament decider. Offered here is a ticket to the 1966 NCAA Final Four at Cole Field House in Maryland. Texas Western (now the University of Texas at El Paso) defeated Utah 85-78 to advance to the final, while Kentucky beat a solid Duke Blue Devils squad 83-79. The Miners beat Kentucky 72-65 to finish the season 28-1. This offered ticket stub has been authenticated and encapsulated by PSA (21355531).
