Offered here is a ticket from Game 3 of the 1926 World Series between the St. Louis Cardinals and New York Yankees. St. Louis won Game 3 by a score of 3-0 at Sportsman’s Park, with their Hall of Fame starter Jesse Haines tossing a five-hit, complete game shutout. Haines helped his own cause with a two-run homer off Yankees starter Dutch Ruether in the fourth inning. A batter earlier, the Cardinals plated their first run of the game on an error from shortstop Mark Koenig. Lou Gehrig went 2-4 in this contest, while Babe Ruth finished 1-3 with a walk. St. Louis would go on to win this series in seven games for the franchise’s first World Series title. This offered ticket stub has been encapsulated and graded a VG 3 by PSA (19982648).
