William Howard Taft, the 27th President of the United States of America, has signed this photograph inside a 9 x 11-inch framed display. Taft, born in Cincinnati, Ohio, was a Republican who also served as the Governor-General of the Philippines and as the first Provisional Governor of Cuba. He held the office of president from 1909 to 1913, later serving as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court from 1921 to 1930. He has signed this photograph in black fountain pen, writing “For G Miller with best wishes of William Taft” and “May 23, 1910”. Taft’s signature reads boldly and clearly. It is accompanied by a LOA from PSA/DNA (I05703).
