The San Antonio Spurs won their first NBA title in the 1999 NBA Finals, using their smothering defense and expert ball movement to defeat the New York Knicks in a five-game Finals. Led by the towering pair of Tim Duncan and David Robinson, the Spurs allowed the Knicks to score more than 77 points in only two of the series’ five games. Game 5, held at Madison Square Garden on June 25th, 1999, was the closest game of the Finals, with the Spurs holding on for a nail-biting 78-77 victory over Jeff Van Gundy’s Knicks.

This basketball was used during Game 5 of the 1999 NBA Finals, has been photo matched to Game 5 and signed by 16 members of the Spurs organization.
