After 15 seasons playing left field for the Chicago Cubs, Billy Williams took his bat west to Oakland. In 1975, his first season with the A’s, Williams became the team’s best designated hitter, helping to carry the A’s into the post season. Williams’ 1975 Hillerich & Bradsby S2 model bat shows good use with a handle crack that has been repaired with nails. Williams’ number “28” is hand written on the knob in black marker and the Hall of Fame has signed the barrel “Sweet Swinging Billy H.O.F. 87 Gamer.” The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B16614) for the game use and has been graded a solid GU 8, plus a LOA from JSA (Z32971) for the signature.
