Offered here are two ticket stubs for Games 3 and 4 of the 1929 World Series between the Chicago Cubs and the Philadelphia Athletics. Game 3 took place at Shibe Park in Philadelphia, with Guy Bush starting for the Cubs and George Earnshaw taking the hill for Philadelphia. Chicago claimed this contest 3-1, with Rogers Hornsby plating the Cubs first run of the game before a Kiki Cuyler single knocked two runners home. Both Earnshaw and Bush went the distance in this pitcher’s duel. This ticket stub has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (20876968).

Game 4 went the other way, with Philadelphia overcoming an 8-0 Cubs lead to emerge the 10-8 victors. Philadelphia scored all 10 runs in the seventh inning, including plating six off Cubs starter Charlie Root. Mule Haas and Jimmy Dykes each collected three RBI for the A’s, while Al Simmons and Jimmie Foxx each knocked in one. After this win, the A’s beat the Cubs one final time at home to claim the World Series title in five games. This ticket stub has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (20810094).
