This plaque was presented to Philadelphia Flyers left winger Dave Schultz in honor of “The Hammer” scoring his first NHL goal. Schultz scored this goal on October 12th, 1972, during the Flyers home opener at the Spectrum against the visiting Vancouver Canucks. In the middle of a 7-3 Flyers victory, Schultz lit the lamp 9:38 into the second period. This was the first of nine goals Schultz would score in his first full season with the Flyers.

This wooden plaque was presented to Schultz and honors the first of his 79 NHL goals. This plaque measures 10 ½ x 13 ½ inches. A metal plaque mounted to the wooden award reads “DAVE SCHULTZ 1ST NHL GOAL VS VANCOUVER 9:38 OF THE SECOND PERIOD HOME OPENER OCT. 12TH, 1972 FLYERS-7 CANUCKS-3”. Beneath the plate is a hockey puck with the Flyers logo which has two gold plated hockey sticks on each side. This item comes with a full LOA from Dave Schultz.
