The 2006 Major League Baseball All-Star Game, played in Pittsburgh’s PNC Park, was one of the most thrilling in the contest’s history. Facing closer Trevor Hoffman - in to protect a 2-1 lead - Michael Young delivered a two-run triple with two outs in the ninth inning to put the American League ahead, 3-2. Mariano Rivera closed the door in the bottom of the inning to preserve the A.L.’s victory over the National League. Young was named the game’s MVP while Vladimir Guerrero hit a home run to plate the A.L.’s other run. David Wright homered for the N.L.

Offered here is a 2006 MLB All-Star Game ring (A.L. version) that was presented to John Gibbons, the Toronto Blue Jays manager who served as a coach in the game. This ring features a small gold colored stone set on a larger black stone. Around the bezel at the top reads “ALL STAR” with a small star separating the two words. The year “2006” is shown at the bottom, with an image of the MLB logo set in between the numbers. One side of the ring is centered by the American League logo, with the word “PITTSBURGH” above. An image of the Roberto Clemente Bridge is featured on the opposite side, below a logo for the All-Star Game. The inside of the band – which shows wear – is marked “STERL”. This ring is an approximate size 12, weighs approximately 31.0 grams and comes with a LOA from John Gibbons.
