Offered in this lot are two vintage pennants celebrating the Brooklyn Dodgers 1955 World Series title. This was the Dodgers first World Series title, and it came in their eighth modern World Series appearance. The Dodgers faced the Yankees in the Fall Classic yet again, this time winning the World Series in a full seven games. Johnny Podres was named the first World Series MVP, going 2-0 with a complete game shutout in the clinching Game 7.

The first pennant in this lot is blue, with “World Champs B’klyn. Dodgers” printed in white lettering. An image of Ebbets Field is also printed on this pennant. It has a white border on the thick end and measures 26 x 8.5 inches at its widest dimensions. The second pennant is also blue and printed with “Brooklyn Dodgers ‘World Champions!’” in white. This pennant is printed with an image of a Dodger Bum. Please note that a small crease is present over the bum’s face. This pennant also has a white end and measures 26.5 x 8.5 inches at its widest dimensions. Please note that this lot has a 25% Buyer’s Premium (27.75% if payment is made using a credit card and/or is not paid within 10 days of invoice). Goldin Auctions will be donating 10% of the winning bid price to The Jackie Robinson Foundation.
