Offered in this lot are six Presidential event tickets and passes from the 18th and 20th centuries. The first ticket in this lot is for James A. Garfield’s inauguration day party at Woolworth’s Hall in Burville, New York. This pass has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (22299464). The second ticket is from the 1885 inauguration ball of Grover Cleveland at Irving Hall. This ticket, which cost the original guest $10, has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (25293199). The third ticket in this lot is from William Jennings Bryan’s reception at the National Theatre in Dayton, Ohio, on September 24th, 1908. Bryan was the Democratic Party’s nominee for President in 1908, however he was defeated in the general election by William Howard Taft. This pass has been encapsulated and graded an EX 5(MK) by PSA (20942363).

The third pass in this lot is a White House pass for Wednesday, February 11th, 1931 at nine o’clock. Herbert Hoover was the president when this White House visit occurred. This pass has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (21461990). The fourth ticket is from President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s October 14th, 1936 address at Chicago Stadium. This full ticket has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (21147206). The final pass in this lot is a pass for FDR’s 1939 State of the Union address. President Roosevelt astutely warned the American people about the encroaching horrors of World War II, stating that he felt it “necessary on previous occasions to advise the Congress of disturbance abroad and of the need of putting our own house in order in the face of storm signals from across the seas. As this Seventy-sixth Congress opens there is need for further warning. A war which threatened to envelop the world in flames has been averted; but it has become increasingly clear that world peace is not assured." This pass has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (23421980).
