Presented in this lot are two encapsulated items from the 1935 World Series between the Chicago Cubs and Detroit Tigers. The Tigers won this Fall Classic in six games, clinching the championship on home turf at Navin Field in Detroit. The first item in this lot is a pass to Wrigley Field for Games 3, 4, and 5 of the 1935 World Series. The Tigers won the first two games, first by a score of 6-5 in 11 innings at Wrigley and then earning a 2-1 win in Game 4. Game 5 went the Cubs way with a final score of 3-1 in the Senior Circuit ballclub’s favor. This pass is the highest graded example of its kind. It has been encapsulated and graded an EX-MT 6 by PSA (20982700).
The second item in this lot is a ticket stub from Game 5 of the 1935 World Series. This 3-1 Cubs victory took place at Wrigley Field, with Lon Warneke earning the victory against Tigers starter Schoolboy Rowe. Chuck Klein plated two runs for the Cubs with a homer off Rowe in the third inning and the Hall of Fame second baseman Billy Herman hit a triple, a double, and knocked in the Cubs third run while also scoring on Klein’s longball. This ticket has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (20943118).
