Offered here is a tremendous tintype photograph from the 1880s of a fielder in his fielding pose. The subject is leaning over in his dark uniform with matching cap and light-colored shoes has a glove in his right hand and holding a ball in his bare left hand while the fielding glove supports it. This photograph appears to have been taken in a studio and the photo has been housed in protective brass case that is set in an octagonal gutta-percha Union case that measures approximately 3 ¼ x 4 inches. The photograph and case are in overall good condition given the age with fading and surface wear present on the front of the case.
