Charlie “Jolly Charlie” Grimm was the guy who kept the Cubs bench loose during their great late 1920s to late 1930s dynasty. During that 10-year stretch, the Cubbies won pennants in 1929, 1932, 1935 and 1938, all the while with Grimm holding down first base. This bat was used by Grimm during his first seasons in Chicago, during which Joe McCarthy and Bill Veeck, Sr. built a dynasty around the cheerful and heavy-hitting first baseman. This Hillerich & Bradsby Pre-Model bat shows good game use and has a shattered handle with an amateur repair performed. The bat shows many ball marks on the barrel along with several cleat imprints. A superb gamer from the lynchpin of the 1920s-30s Cubs dynasty. The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (G55817) for the game use and has been graded a GU 6. Additionally, there is a STICKER ONLY from MEARS (306184) and according to their database, they have graded this bat an A7.5.
