The Chicago White Sox won their second World Series title in 1917, defeating the New York Giants in a six game World Series. Red Faber won three games for the White Sox, and Eddie Collins hit .429 to power the Chicago offense. Offered in this lot is a ticket to Game 1 of the 1917 Fall Classic, a 2-1 White Sox victory at Comiskey Park. Eddie Cicotte threw a complete game for Chicago to earn the win, while a Happy Felsch homer in the fourth inning gave Chicago their winning margin. Slim Sallee pitched a complete game of his own for New York, knocking in their only run of the game on a fifth inning single to score catcher Lew McCarty. This offered ticket stub has been encapsulated and authenticated by PSA (20839169).
