Paul Goldschmidt spent his final season with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2018 before being traded to the St. Louis Cardinals in the offseason for the 2019 campaign. Goldschmidt used this Old Hickory TC1 model bat to hit his 181st career home run during the May 19th, 2018 game at Citi Field in New York against the Mets. Goldschmidt’s home run led off the fourth inning against Mets pitcher Steven Matz to left field. It was his fifth home run of the season. This offered bat survived until the May 21st game when it was cracked on the third pitch of the top of the sixth inning at-bat against Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Chase Anderson when he fouled off a pitch. This bat displays outstanding game use and has the aforementioned crack in the handle. There are ball marks, blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs present on the barrel. There is a light coating of pine tar on the upper handle/lower barrel and Goldschmidt’s number “44” is stamped in black on the top barrel and his number is affixed to a Schutte sticker with the Diamondback’s logo. This bat has been photo matched by Resolution Photomatching to the May 19th game in which Goldschmidt hit his 181st career home run and a corresponding LOA (425963) will accompany this item. Additionally, there is an MLB Authenticated hologram (JD151402) which authenticates that this bat was broken on the third pitch of Goldschmidt’s at-bat in the top of the sixth inning and a hologram from Fanatics (AA0029176) authenticating use of this bat during the May 21st, 2018 game.
