Seattle Mariners designated hitter and 2019 Hall of Fame inductee Edgar Martinez wore this navy and teal Mariners cap circa 1995-96. 1995 was arguably Martinez’s best season as a pro. Martinez won the American League batting title with a career-high .356 average and sent the M’s to the American League Championship Series for the first time in franchise history with “The Double” against the New York Yankees in Game 5 of the ALDS. Martinez returned with another fantastic year in 1996, producing a Triple Crown slash of .327/26/103 with 52 doubles and more walks than strikeouts. Martinez was named to the American League All-Star team in both 1995 and 1996.
This size 7 3/8 cap is navy, with a teal colored brim and the Mariners “S” logo sewn on the front. A MLB logo is sewn on the back of the hat and Martinez’s number “11” is written underneath the brim in blue marker. “Diamond Collection”, “New Era”, and “Size 7 3/8” tags are sewn in the sweatband. This hat shows moderate to heavy wear and is accompanied by a LOA from game used expert Dave Miedema.
