Presented in this lot is an original canvas portrait of the trailblazing Jackie Robinson by the renowned sports artist Arthur Miller. This portrait, titled “Mr. Robinson”, shows the 1949 National League MVP in his Brooklyn Dodgers home uniform. A tan bat is resting on Robinson’s right shoulder as his stern gaze is focused on some far-off horizon. Miller’s signature is located on the upper righthand corner, while the artist has also signed the back of the frame. Also inscribed on the back of the frame is “Mr. Robinson” and “2018”. The frame measures 31 x 28 inches. This is a terrific display piece worthy of Robinson’s outsized legacy!
