Harold Baines was one of the best hitters of his era and the first “full-time” Designated Hitter. After being the first overall draft pick in 1977, Baines went on rack up 2,866 hits, 488 doubles, 384 home runs and 1,628 RBIs. During 1999, the season this bat dates too, Baines hit .312 with 25 homers while splitting time between Baltimore and Cleveland. The SAM BAT "The Dream" model bat is un-cracked and shows outstanding use. Numerous ball marks with stitch impressions are found on all sides of the barrel along with blue ink transfers, white leather ball scuffs and cleat imprints. The impression of a weighted batting donut can be seen along with green bat rack paint streaks. The lower handle and knob have been taped to enhance the grip and a heavy coat of pine tar was applied. The length “34.5,” weight “32.1,” date “6 13 99,” Baines’ initials “H.B.” and model “Dream” are written on the top of the barrel in black pen. The Hall of Famer has signed then barrel in gold pen with the added notation “#3 Game Used.” The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B16376) for the game use and has been graded a perfect GU 10, plus a COA from Beckett Authentication for the signature.
