This stunning sculpture of the teammates Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig by the noted sculptor Palmer Murphy commemorates the Yankees “Murderer’s Row” season of 1927. The Hall of Fame teammates ran baseball that season, leading the Yankees to the 1927 World Series title after combining for 107 homers and 338 RBI between the two of them. This fantastic sculpture shows Babe and Lou holding bats while standing shoulder to shoulder, with Ruth examining Gehrig’s lumber. The facsimile signatures of Ruth and Gehrig are etched on the front of this sculpture, while their stat lines from the season and “Palmer Murphy 1994” are also etched on the back. A small placard that states this sculpture is a limited edition 174 of 1927 is applied to the back of the sculpture. The statue measures approximately 10 inches tall, with a base of 6.5 x 4.5 inches. This item is a fantastic display piece in great condition.
