On a cold fall afternoon in October 1930, Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig made the journey out to Long Island for a baseball exhibition game. The two Yankee stars played on a makeshift team facing Addie Klein’s Lindenhurst Nine. 4,000 shivering fans watched as Ruth and Lou bested the Lindenhurst Nine, 10-4. Sometime during their afternoon on Long Island, both the Babe and Lou signed this Goldsmith Official League ball. The event was noted by an unknown hand who scrawled on the ball, “at Lindenhurst Sat. Oct. 18, 1930 Adam Muller Master of Ceremonies.” Both men have signed in black fountain pen, with the Babe taking his customary position on the sweet spot. A great barnstorming ball from the greatest one-two punch in baseball history. The ball comes with a LOA from JSA (X84714) for the signatures.
