Ken Griffey, Jr’s rookie season in 1989 was one of the most anticipated events in Seattle sporting history. The 19-year-old did not disappoint, putting up an impressive Triple Crown slash line of .264/16/61 with 16 steals in 127 games. Over the next 21 seasons, Griffey put together one of the most impressive careers in MLB history, launching 630 home runs and driving in 1,836 runs. In 2016, Griffey was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame, appearing on a then-record 99.3% (437 of 440) of all ballots.

Griffey’s rookie-season 1989 bat shows light use and has a crack on the upper handle. A few ball marks are visible on the barrel and the handle has been taped in a criss-cross pattern to enhance the grip. The bat’s weight “31 oz” and length “34” are stamped into the knob, and the Hall of Famer has signed the barrel in bold black marker. A true Griffey rookie game with all the bells and whistles. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B16668) for the game use and has been graded a GU 7.5, plus a COA from Beckett Authentication for the signature.
