This bat dates Ken Griffey, Jr.’s 188th career home run and 16th of the 1995 season. Due to injury, Griffey only played in 72 games, but the Hall of Famer capped off 1995 by leading the Mariners into the post-season for the first time in franchise history. In the ALDS against the Yankees, Junior not only saved his team from elimination in Games 3 and 4, but his daring base running scored the winning run in the bottom of the 11th inning of the decisive Game 5.

This offered Louisville Slugger C271 model bat was used by Griffey during the September 26th, 1995 when he blasted the 16th home run of the season and 188th of his career to right center field off California Angels pitcher Rich Monteleone in the bottom of the fourth inning. This bat displays excellent game use and has a crack on the handle that has been repaired. There are ball marks, stitch impressions, blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs on the barrel. The barrel also has three small chips that have been repaired. The handle has been taped in a thin criss-cross pattern. Junior has added his signature in silver marker on the barrel and inscribed “Home Run 16” and “95”. This bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (1B13085) for the game use and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9, plus a COA from Ken Griffey, Jr. for the game use. There is an additional LOA from PSA/DNA (AE02962) for the signature.
