For the second season in a row, the Los Angeles Dodgers won both the National League Western Division and the National League pennant. Led by Hall of Fame manager Tommy Lasorda, the 1978 Dodgers won their division by three games and defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 3-1 in the NLCS only to lose to the New York Yankees for the second straight year in the World Series. The Dodgers were led by Steve Garvey and Rick Monday, who were both named starters in the All-Star Game, with Ron Cey, Tommy John, Davey Lopes and Reggie Smith all earning all-star selections.

This offered Balfour 14K Los Angeles Dodgers 1978 National League Champions ring features a large blue stone in the center with the Dodgers script and a large diamond above the logo. Surrounding the center blue stone reads “NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONS 1978”. The right shank has a raised baseball with intersecting bats and the name “Johnny O’Neill” etched in the middle of the ball. The opposite shank has a raised image of the famed Dodger Stadium scoreboard with “3,347,845” which was the attendance for Dodgers’ home games that season and a raised intersecting “LA”. “BALFOUR” and “14K” are engraved on the inner band and this ring weighs approximately 27.4 grams and is an approximate size 9 ¾. The ring is in good condition with some minor paint chipping on the side shanks and some marks on the blue stone. This ring comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA (Z05851).
