Alex Rodriguez became a baseball immortal on August 4th, 2010 when the New York Yankees third baseman slugged the 600th home run of his legendary career. Rodriguez reached the 600 home run milestone in the midst of another solid year, finishing it with 30 longballs, 125 RBI and 74 runs scored, while batting .270. It was Rodriguez’s 17th home run of the year that elevated the former number one overall draft pick to the ultra-exclusive 600 Home Run Club. Rodriguez and the Yankees faced off against Toronto Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium as Rodriguez sat on number 599. Rodriguez came to bat against Shaun Marcum in the first inning, with Derek Jeter already on base, primed and ready to swing. On the third pitch of the at-bat, Rodriguez jumped on a pitch down the middle with his trademark right-handed swing, depositing the ball over the centerfield wall. Rodriguez and Jeter shared a hug at home plate after scoring, and the Yankee dugout emptied onto the field to properly congratulate the newly-minted member of the 600 Home Run Club.

Offered here is the jersey and pants worn by Alex Rodriguez during his 600th home run game on August 4th, 2010. The jersey is a pinstriped button-down Yankees home jersey with the interlocking “NY” logo sewn on the left chest in navy tackle twill. Rodriguez’s number “13” is sewn on the back of the jersey in the same fashion. This jersey has staining on the front and includes memorial patches for Bob Sheppard that is on the left sleeve. “The Voice of Yankee Stadium” passed away on July 11th, 2010. Another patch is on the upper left chest for controversial but beloved owner George Steinbrenner, who died on July 13, 2010. His patch reads “George M. Steinbrenner III  GMS “THE BOSS””. Below Sheppard’s patch on the left sleeve is a black armband for former player and manager Ralph Houk, who passed away on July 21st, 2010.  A weathered MLB logo patch is sewn on the back outside collar. A Majestic tag with size “48”, “2010”, “Taper” and “+1”body” flags are sewn on the front left tail. Rodriguez has signed the left chest of this jersey in black marker, inscribing “Game Worn #13 600 Home Run 8-4-2010”. The jersey displays moderate game use with some light dirt staining.

The pants included in this lot are also white pinstriped Yankee pants. A Majestic tag and a “13 Rodriguez 35-40 34 C ‘10” swatch are sewn on the back inside waistband. The pants are replete with dirt stains and include a packet of sunflower seeds in one of the back pockets. Rodriguez has signed the left leg in black marker, inscribing “Game Worn #13 600 Home Run 8-4-2010”. The jersey (FJ095975) and pants (FJ191097) both come with an MLB Authenticated hologram, and each item comes with an individual LOA signed by Alex Rodriguez. Both the jersey and pants have been photo matched by Resolution Photomatching to Alex Rodriguez's 600th home run.
