It was Memorial Day, 2010 at Yankee Stadium. The Indians were in town battling the Yankees. With the score 2-1 Yanks, New York loaded the bases against Mitch Talbot and then Rafael Perez. Cleveland brought in Chris Perez to pitch to Alex Rodriguez, and the Yankees star responded by hitting a grand slam, putting New York up for good, 6-1. The shot was A-Rod’s 590th, a milestone as he edged closer to the exclusive 600 mark and was his 20th career grand slam.
Rodriguez used these batting gloves when he hit his 590th career home run and 20th career grand slam. AROD has signed these game used white Nike batting gloves on the palm of each glove in blue marker. Both gloves have Rodriguez’s personal logo on the top of the wristband, and the number “13” in silver and white embroidered on a black patch. Both gloves have a blue Nike swoosh on the index finger. There are dirt stains on both gloves, which display excellent use. These gloves come with an MLB Authenticated hologram (LH882887) for use during the May 31st, 2010 game and individual COAs from Beckett Authentication (H39780 & H39781) for his signatures.
