Vaunted New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez used this Louisville Slugger C271L model bat when he hit his 614th career home run on April 2, 2011, during a 10-6 Yankees win over the Detroit Tigers at the new Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. A-Rod hit the two-run homer in the bottom of the first inning off Tigers pitcher Brad Penny.  It was Rodriguez’s first HR of the 2011 season, which saw him finish with a .276 batting average, 16 home runs and 21 doubles.

This bat displays excellent game use and is un-cracked. There are ball marks, blue ink transfers, stitch impressions, white leather scuffs and slight checking or grain swelling from repeated ball contact present on the barrel. There is a coating of pine tar on the lower handle and the bat’s manufacture date “1/27/2011” and length/weight “34.0/31.5” is stamped on the knob. Rodriguez has signed the barrel of this bat in silver marker and inscribed “game used 2011 Career Homerun 1st HR 2011 4-2-2011”. This bat comes with a MLB Authenticated hologram (FJ483091), which authenticates that this bat was used during the April 2nd, 2011 game and a signed LOA from Alex Rodriguez, who attests that he used this bat during the April 2nd game and that he signed this bat.
